| 3 Tbsp. Oil (salad oil or olive oil) | 1/2 lb long-grain white rice | 1/4 medium onion, diced |
| 4-5 cups chicken stock | 1/2 tsp. pepper | 1 Tbsp. salt |
| 6-oz can tomato sauce | 3/4 cup water | |
| 1 | Heat oil in skillet, add rice and cook until brown, stirring constantly over medium heat. Add diced onion and cook until onion is tender. Add stock and stir well. Then add pepper, salt, tomato sauce and water. Cook over medium heat, covered, for 45-50 minutes. Rice should be tender; stir often to keep from sticking. |
