Chinese Braised Chicken

INGREDIENTS:
1 cup chopped onions 1 (3-pound) package chicken parts 1 cup water
1/2 cup reduced-sodium soy sauce 2 tablespoons chopped fresh ginger 2 tablespoons sugar
1 clove garlic, crushed Salt and pepper to taste Chinese Relish: 1 cup finely chopped green onion
1/3 cup chopped fresh cilantro 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
1 tablespoon rice wine vinegar or sherry Toasted sesame seeds (optional, garnish) 1 pound cooked angel hair pasta, tossed with sesame oil



1 Place onions in slow cooker; add chicken. In a small bowl, combine water, soy sauce, ginger, sugar and garlic; pour over chicken. Cover and cook on low setting for 6 to 7 hours. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
2 Combine ingredients for Chinese relish. Sprinkle chicken with sesame seeds and serve with relish and angel hair pasta.
