Dubu Daenchang Chigae (Bean Curd (Tofu) Soup with Brown Sauce)

INGREDIENTS:
1/4 pound pork (shoulder or chops) 1 scallion 2 onions
2 cakes bean curd (tofu) 2 cups water 2 tablespoons daenchang



1 Slice the pork thin against the grain, then cut it into 1-inch squares. Slice the scallion into 1-1/2-inch lengths. Slice the onions into 1/4-inch widths and the bean curd into 1/2-inch widths.
2 Arrange the pork slices on bottom of a cooking pot. Add the onions, scallion and bean curd. Mix the daenchang with the water and pour over the ingredients. Bring the mixture to a boil. Cook, covered, for 5 minutes.
