| INGREDIENTS: | ||
| 4 chicken legs | 3 rashers of bacon | 1 medium onion, finely chopped |
| 1-1/2 cups chicken broth | 4 Tbs. flour | 1 Tbs. caraway seeds, crushed |
| 1 lb. sauerkraut | ||
| 1 | Heat a large frying pan or casserole dish on medium. Slice the bacon fine. Put the bacon in the pan and fry till almost crisp. Add the chopped onion and fry, stirring occasionally, till almost done. Add the chicken legs and fry till golden-brown on both sides. |
| 2 | Sprinkle on the flour and mix well. Cook for 2 minutes. Pour in the chicken broth and cook, stirring well, for a few minutes. Add the sauerkraut and crushed caraway seeds. Season with salt and freshly ground black pepper. Bring to a low boil, cover, and simmer till done, about 45 minutes. Serve with potatoes or dumplings. |
