Broiled Todok (Todokkui)

INGREDIENTS:
15 todoks (a white root) 2 T. red pepper paste 1/2 T. red pepper powder
2 T. soy sauce 1 T. chopped garlic 2 T. chopped green onion
1 T. sugar 1 T. sesame salt 2 T. sesame oil
salt to taste



1 After soaking and peeling the todok, remove the bitterness by soaking the todok in salt water; then pat them dry. Slice the todok thinly and pound it flat with a mallet.
2 Mix the red pepper paste with the soy sauce, green onion, garlic, sesame salt and sesame oil. Simmer the mixture until thicken.
3 Boil the todok on a grill and baste it with the seasoned red pepper paste.
