| INGREDIENTS: | ||
| 1 moderate-sized vegetable marrow | 1 cupful of currants | 1 cupful of sugar |
| 1 dessertspoonful of vinegar | 1/2 teaspoonful of nutmeg | short-crust pastry |
| 1 | Peel the marrow and take away the centre. Cut the remainder into cubes. Line a pie dish with short-crust pastry. Then put a layer of cubes into it, layer of sugar, layer of currants, sprinkling of nutmeg. Continue the layers in this order until the pie dish is full. Lastly, add the vinegar. Cover with a layer of pastry and bake in a moderate oven until the fruit is cooked. Serve hot or cold. |
