INGREDIENTS:
6 ozs. self-raising flour 2 ozs. to 3 ozs. sugar 1 egg
1/4 teaspoonful bicarbonate of soda milk



1 Mix flour, sugar, and bicarbonate of soda together. Beat egg and add to the flour, adding milk to make a fairly thick batter.
2 Using a frying pan cook four slices of home cured Welsh ham. Keep in a hot dish until required. Pour the batter into the hot fat and cook both sides until golden brown. Cut into four portions and serve hot.
