| INGREDIENTS: | ||
| 4 cups bread crumbs | 1/4 cup melted butter | 3 cups sliced fresh peaches |
| 1/2 cup water | 3 tablespoons lemon juice | 1 teaspoon lemon rind |
| 3/4 cup sugar, or more if desired | ||
| 1 | Moisten crumbs with butter. Place alternate layers of crumbs and peaches in butterd baking dish, using crumbs for first and last layers. Sprinkle each layer of peaches with combined water, lemon juice, rind and sugar. Cover and bake in slow oven (325 F.) about 1 hour. Serve with Vanilla Sauce. |
