Split-Roasted Spareribs

INGREDIENTS:
1 cup commercial barbecue sauce 1/2 cup water 1/4 cup molasses
1/4 cup vinegar 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce 2 teaspoons salt
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard 1/4 teaspoon pepper 2 cloves garlic, minced
4 pounds spareribs



1 Combine all ingredients except spareribs, stirring well. Set sauce aside.
2 Cut ribs into serving-size pieces, and thread on spit; secure with prongs at each end of spit; secure with prongs at each end of spit. Balance ribs properly to avoid strain on motor. Place spit on rotisserie 3 to 4 inches from low coals. Grill ribs 1 hour or until desired degree of doneness. Baste with sauce during last 20 minutes of grilling time.
