| INGREDIENTS: | ||
| 4 ozs. butter | 1 lb. flour | 2 ozs. sugar (brown) |
| 1 lb. treacle | 1 oz. candied peel | 1 oz. ground ginger |
| 2 eggs | 1 teaspoonful bicarbonate of soda | 1 teacupful of milk |
| 1 | Heat together the treacle, butter and sugar. Mince the peel and add the beaten eggs. Put dry ingredients in a bowl, add the beaten eggs gradually and then the treacle, ets., and milk as required. Pour into a shallow tin, well greased, and bake for 3/4 hour in a moderate oven. |
