In large mixer bowl, beat butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat eggs, molasses and maple flavoring. |

Add combined flour and baking soda; mix well. Stir in oats and chopped nuts; mix well. |

Cover dough; chill at least 1 hour. |

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly grease cookie sheets. |

Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Place 3 inches apart on prepared cookie sheets. Flatten each ball by pressing a pecan half in center. |

Bake 10 to 12 minutes, until deep golden brown. Immediately remove to wire rack; cool completely. |
