INGREDIENTS:
1 lb plain flour 1/2 lb caster sugar 3 eggs
pinch of salt 1/2 lb fat teaspoonful baking powder
1/4 lb currants



1 Rub fat into the flour, add salt, sugar, currants and eggs well beaten. Beat well. Then stir in lightly the baking powder and a little milk if necessary. Grease the bakestone with lard, put mixture out in spoonfuls. Bake both sides. Serve hot.
