Spinach Fettuccine with Garlic-Onion Sauce

INGREDIENTS:
1/2 cup butter 1 tablespoon olive oil 1 pound sweet onions, sliced
12 cloves garlic, chopped 1 tablespoon honey 1 cup Marsala wine
salt and black pepper 1 pound spinach fettuccine, cooked according to package directions, drained grated Parmesan cheese (optional)



1 Heat butter and oil in large skillet over medium heat. Add onions and garlic; cover and cook until soft. Add honey; reduce heat to low. Cook, uncovered, 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add wine; cook 5 to 10 minutes more. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Toss sauce over pasta; sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and serve.
