Coffee Refrigerator Pudding (Pudim de Cafe)

INGREDIENTS:
12 egg yolks 14 tablespoons sugar 6 tablespoons strong coffee
1/2 pound unsalted butter 12 ladyfingers whipped cream
chopped nuts



1 Beat egg yolks with sugar until creamy, add coffee, cook in top of a double boiler until thick, stirring constantly. Cook. Add slightly softened butter and mix well. Put a layer of ladyfingers in a greased, wax-paper-lined mold, cover with coffee cream, put in another layer of ladyfingers, and finish with cream. Chill in refrigerator overnight. Unmold and decorate with whipped cream and chopped nuts.
