| 6" sponge cake, sliced, or macaroons | 1 qt strawberries, fresh | 2 tbls sugar |
| 1-1/2 tbls water | 1 cup cream, whipped | |
| 1 | Place alternate layers of cake and strawberries in a glass bowl. Cook sugar in water, add a few berries. Strain and cool. Whip cream and fold in the dissolved sugar. Heap on strawberries to serve. This may also be applied to apricots, peaches or sour cherries. |
