Blanched Zucchini Strips (Hobak Namul)

INGREDIENTS:
3 small zucchini, about 1 pound 1 teaspoon Korean sesame oil 1 teaspoon toasted sesame seeds
1 tablespoon soy sauce 1 garlic clove, crushed 1/4 teaspoon sugar
1/8 teaspoon pepper



1 Cut the zucchini across into 1/8-inch thick slices. Drop the slices into boiling water for 1/2 minute and rinse quickly under cold water. Drain and dry on a kitchen towel.
2 Mix together the sesame oil, sesame seeds, soy sauce, garlic, sugar and pepper. Toss the mixture well with the softened zucchini.
3 Serve at room temperature as a side dish with Korean food.
