| INGREDIENTS: | ||
| 1/2 lb flour | 4 ozs fat | 3-4 ozs sugar |
| mixed dry fruit | 1 teaspoonful cinnamon | 1 teaspoonful ginger |
| 1/2 teaspoonful bicarbonate of soda | 1 tablespoonful vinegar | milk |
| 1 | Rub fat to flour and add rest of dry ingredients. Mix with milk to a fairly soft consistency. Quickly mix the bicarbonate of soda with the vinegar and stir into the mixture thoroughly. Leave batter overnight and bake next day in a lined and greased tin for 1-1-1/4 hours in a moderate oven. |
