| 1-1/2 cupfuls flour (plain) | 1/2 cupful grated cheese | 1/4 teaspoonful salt |
| 4 teaspoonfuls baking-powder | 1 egg | 3/4 cupful milk |
| 1 | Beat the egg lightly, add the salt and milk. Sift flour and baking-powder together, and then put in the grated cheese. Make into a dough with the liquid, beat well and roll out. Cut into rounds, brush with beaten egg, and bake for 10 minutes in a sharp oven. They are delicious split, spread with butter and eaten hot or cold, preferably hot. |
