| 3 tablespoons corn oil | 2-1/2 cups short-grain rice | 4 to 4-1/2 cups boiling water |
| 1 | Heat the oil in a medium saucepan with a tight-fitting lid. Add the rice and saute quickly over medium-high heat for 2 minutes. Add the water and cook until almost all of the liquid has evaporated. |
