Combine ground veal, egg, milk, 1/2 cup of the cracker meal, salt, pepper, and sage in a large bowl; mix lightly. |

Divide into 16 equal mounds; form each into a drumstick shape around a wooden skewer. |

Melt butter or margarine in a small frying pan; sprinkle remaining 1 cup cracker meal on wax paper. Dip each drumstick into melted butter, then roll in cracker meal. Place in a single layer in a well-greased jelly-roll pan. Drizzle remaining melted butter or margarine over tops. |
