Beat butter and sugar in large mixer bowl until light and fluffy. Add 3/4 cup of the flour; mix slowly just until mnixture forms coarse crumbs. Remove 2/3 cup of the crumb mixture and reserve. |

Add eggs, baking powder, salt, baking soda, cinnamon and nutmeg to remaining mixture in bowl; beat until smooth. Add remaining 1-1/4 cups flour 1/2 at a time, alternating with buttermilk, beating until smooth after each addition. |

Spread batter in greased 9x9x2-inch pan. Drop jam by teaspoons onto batter; pull knife through batter to give marbled effect. Sprinkle reserved crumb mixture on top. |

Bake in preheated 350 F. oven until wooden pick inserted into center is withdrawn clean, 30 to 35 minutes. Serve warm. |
