Rice Girdle Cakes (Teisen Reis Greiddell)

INGREDIENTS:
1 teacupful boiled rice 1 teacupful flour 1 teacupful milk
1 tablespoonful butter 1 teaspoonful salt 2 teaspoonfuls baking-powder
1 egg



1 Mix together rice, melted butter, salt and well-beaten egg. Sieve together baking-powder and flour, add to mixture and stir well. Drop large tablespoonfuls on to hot greased bakestone or thick frying-pan. Cook about four minutes each side.
2 These are delicious served very hot with golden syrup.
