| 1 package phyllo pastry | 1 thick slice of ham | 1 egg |
| 3/4 cup grated gouda or gruyere | preheat the oven to 375 F. | |
| 1 | Roll the phyllo pastry out fairly thin, fold it over, and roll it out again. Sprinkle on half the cheese, place the ham slice on top, and cover with the rest of the cheese. Fold the phyllo pastry over the filling and make it into a nice, tightly closed package. Beat the egg and brush it on the pastry. Bake the pastry in a buttered dish in the preheated oven till golden, about 30 minutes. Serve with pickles. |
