| 2 bay leaves, well crumbled | 1 teaspoon ground cumin | 1/2 teaspoon each ground ginger and coriander |
| 1/4 teaspoon ground turmeric | 1/8 teaspoon salt | 8 lean rib pork chops (about 2 pounds), trimmed of fat |

| 1 | In a small bowl, combine the bay leaves, cumin, ginger, coriander, turmeric, and salt. Rub the mixture on both sides of each pork chop. Cover and marinate at room temperature for 1 hour. |
| 2 | Preheat the broiler about 5 minutes. Place the pork chops on the broiler pan rack and broil 7 or 8 inches from the heat, turning 3 or 4 times, until golden and cooked through-about 10 minutes. Garnish with the lime, if desired. |
