| 1 pkg German chocolate cake mix | 1 C nuts, chopped | 1/2 C evaporated milk |
| 16 oz caramels (48 pieces) | 3 T butter or margarine | 1 C chocolate chips |
| 1 | Melt caramels and add evaporated milk and margarine. Mix cake as directed on package. Pour half the batter in a 9x13" greased pan. Bake at 350 F for 18 minutes. Remove from oven and pour caramel mixture over the cake; add nuts and chocolate chips. Top with remaining batter and bake 20 minutes. Serve with whipped cream, if desired. |
