| INGREDIENTS: | ||
| butter | oil | 5 medium onions, sliced |
| 3 cloves garlic, minced | 3 lbs mushrooms, sliced | 2 (14 oz) cans tomato sauce |
| 2 (14 oz) cans diced tomatoes in juice | 1/4 C chopped fresh dill | 1/4 tsp dried dill |
| salt, black pepper | crackers or pita pocket bread wedges | |
| 1 | Heat butter and oil in wok or large skillet. Add onions and saute, stirring, until limp. Add garlic and mushrooms and saute 2-3 minutes. Add tomato sauce and tomatoes. Bring to boil. Add fresh and dried dill and salt and pepper to taste. Cook until liquid is reduced by half. Taste and adjust seasonings. Continue to cook until sauce is thick. Cool. Cover and chill. Serve cold with crackers or pita pocket bread. |
