| 2 pounds boneless round steak | 1 tablespoon vegetable oil | 3/4 cup catsup |
| 1/2 cup water | 1/2 cup cider vinegar | 1 tablespoon brown sugar |
| 1 tablespoon prepared mustard | 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce | 1/2 teaspoon salt |

| 1 | Trim excess fat from round steak, and cut steak into serving-size pieces. Heat 1 tablespoon vegetable oil in a large heavy skillet; add steak, and brown evenly on both sides. Transfer steak to a 2-quart shallow baking dish. |
