| 1 angel food cake | 1 can pineapple, sliced | 1 pint vanilla ice cream |
| 3 egg whites | 3 T sugar | 1 t cream of tartar |
| 1/4 t salt | ||
| 1 | Cut circles of cake the same size as pineapple slices. Drain pineapple. Place on serving dish or foil covered baking board. Combine egg whites, salt, and cream of tartar in mixing bowl. Beat until foamy. Add sugar, a little at a time, beating until mixture stands in stiff peaks. Top pineapple with scoops of very hard vanilla ice cream. Cover completely with meringue. Put under broiler until meringue browns. Watch constantly. Serve immediately. |
