INGREDIENTS:
4 apples, peeled and cut in wedges 2 cups water 1 cup sugar
1 tablespoon rum or port wine 1/4 cup butter



1 Cook the apples in the water until soft and slightly mushy, add sugar and rum or port wine, and cook for a few minutes more. Then add the butter and stir in well. Serve hot or cold with poultry or pork.
