INGREDIENTS:
2 slices white bread, crusts removed 1 teaspoon mayonnaise 1 teaspoon strawberry preserves
2 to 3 slices baked or boiled ham 1 slice Swiss or muenster cheese

1 Spread one slice of bread with mayonnaise and one with strawberry preserves. Place the ham and cheese between the bread slices, and close the sandwich. Place the entire sandwich over the bottom cavity of a lightly oiled sandwich grill and bring down the top, closing the grill (this will crimp the sandwich). Secure the grill with the latch at the handle and trim the excess bread with a knife.
2 Place the grill over a stove burner (electric or gas) over medium-high heat for 2 to 3 minutes on each side, turning frequently. Open the grill to make sure the bread is nicely toasted, remove from the heat, and invert the sandwich onto a plate.
