Stewed Meat and Rice or Savoury Rice with Meat (Reisfleisch)

INGREDIENTS:
1-1/2 lbs veal 1/2 lb rice = 2 cups 1 teaspoonful paprika
3 tablespoons oil



1 Cut the meat into cubes and chop the onions. Fry the onions golden brown in the oil, add the paprika and the meat, salt and simmer until the meat is half done. Now add the washed rice, and so much water that rice and meat are covered one finger high. SImmer over a very low flame. Serve sprinkled with grated cheese and a green salad.
2 NOTE: When in season, strips of green paprika and 1 or 2 peeled tomatoes can be added to the rice.
