| INGREDIENTS: | ||
| 1/2 lb onions | 1 tablespoon of sugar | 2 ozs butter (4 tablespoons) |
| 2 ozs flour (1/2 cup flour) | 1 tablespoon vinegar | |
| 1 | Cut the onions. Melt the butter in which you brown the sugar and add the onions. When these too are browned, add the flour, salt, and when this in turn is also brown, add approximately two cups of clear soup or water. Pepper and vinegar are now added. Bring to the boil, then simmer slowly for 10 minutes. Put through a sieve and serve hot with boiled beef. |
