Tomato Sauce

INGREDIENTS:
1 small onion, chopped or 2 cloves garlic, minced 4 tablespoons butter 1/2 can (14 ounces) crushed tomatoes
1 can (7 ounces) tomato paste 1 teaspoon sugar 1 teaspoon sweet basil
salt and pepper to taste



1 In a medium size saucepan saute onion in butter until soft and transparent. Add tomatoes, and tomato paste dissolved in 1 cup water. Season with remaining ingredients and simmer 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
