| 1 small onion, chopped or 2 cloves garlic, minced | 4 tablespoons butter | 1/2 can (14 ounces) crushed tomatoes |
| 1 can (7 ounces) tomato paste | 1 teaspoon sugar | 1 teaspoon sweet basil |

| 1 | In a medium size saucepan saute onion in butter until soft and transparent. Add tomatoes, and tomato paste dissolved in 1 cup water. Season with remaining ingredients and simmer 1 hour, stirring occasionally. |
