Maple Walnut Fondue

INGREDIENTS:
2/3 cup/150ml 2% evaporated milk 1/2 cup/125ml maple syrup 6 tbsp/90ml corn syrup
1 tbsp/15ml cornstarch 2 tbsp/25ml butter 1/2 tsp/2ml vanilla extract
1/2 cup/125ml chopped walnuts, toasted



1 In a saucepan over low heat, combine evaporated milk, maple syrup and corn syrup. Increase heat to medium. Whisk in cornstarch and cook, whisking constantly, for 5 minutes or until thickened. (Do not allow to boil.)
2 Add butter and vanilla; stir until melted and smooth. Transfer immediately to dessert fondue pot over candle flame. Stir in walnuts.
3 Spear a piece of fruit or cake with fondue fork and dip in fondue.
4 Serve with pineapple chunks, banana slices, ladyfingers, mango slices, apple wedges.
