Brown Sauce (Braune Sauce)

INGREDIENTS:
3 tbls butter 4 tbls flour 1 onion, chopped
2 cups water 1 bay leaf 2 cloves
2 tbls vinegar salt and pepper paprika



1 Melt butter, add flour and slowly brown. Mix in onion. Add water little by little, stirring constantly. Season. Bring to a boil. Strain before serving.
