| 2 eggs, lightly beaten | 1-1/4 cups milk | 1 Tbsp sugar |
| 1/2 tsp vanilla | 4 Tbsp (1/2 stick) butter | 6 pieces bread, thickly sliced |

| 1 | Whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, and vanilla. |
| 2 | Melt half the butter in heavy skillet. |
| 3 | Dip bread, a slice at a time, in egg mixture. Brown both sides of each slice in skillet, adding butter when needed. |
