Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease or spray a 9 by 9 cake pan. Soak orange zest and raisins in whiskey for 30 minutes or nuke in the microwave on high for 40 seconds and let rest for 5 minutes. |

Cream butter and sugar in a medium bowl. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. |

Sift together flour, salt and baking powder. Add to egg mixture. Beat well. Fold in zest, raisins and whiskey. |

Pour into cake pan and bake in a pre-heated 350 degree oven for 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean. |

Serve warm with whipped cream (and a shot of Irish whiskey for the hardy in the group)! |
