| INGREDIENTS: | ||
| 2 c sugar | 1 c Crisco | 3 eggs |
| 2 tsp baking powder | 4 c sifted flour | 1 c buttermilk or sour milk |
| 1 tsp soda dissolved in milk | 2 Tbsp grated orange rind | 2 Tbsp orange juice |
| ORANGE ICING: 1 Tbsp orange juice | 1 tsp orange rind | 1/4 tsp salt |
| 1 Tbsp Crisco or oleo | 1 c powdered sugar | |
| 1 | Cream Crisco and sugar; add eggs and beat until smooth. Sift flour and baking powder together and add to cream mixture along with orange rind and juice, and sour milk; mix well. Drop from tablespoon on greased cookie sheet. |
| 2 | Bake at 350 degrees. Frost with orange frosting while cookies are still warm. |
| 3 | ORANGE ICING: Blend orange juice and rind with Crisco; stir in sugar and salt. Beat until smooth. Frost cookie while they are still warm. |
