Sprinkle chicken breast halves evenly with salt, garlic salt, and pepper. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat; add chicken breast halves, and cook until golden brown. Place chicken in a 2-1/2 quart casserole. |

Combine onion, chili sauce, sugar, raisins, and Worcestershire sauce in a medium bowl; spoon onion mixture over chicken. Cover and bake at 325 F. for 1 hour. Add sherry and sweet cherries to chicken mixture; cover and bake an additional 15 minutes or until chicken is done. |

Remove chicken mixture to a serving platter, using a slotted spoon. Serve chicken with hot cooked rice. |
