| 1/2 cup raisins | 1/2 cup dark rum | 1/2 cup sugar |
| 1/4 cup water | 1 (2-1/2-inch) stick cinnamon, broken in half | 1/2 cup chopped pecans |
| 1 tablespoon grated lemon rind | 1 tablespoon grated orange rind | 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract |
| 1 | Combine raisins and rum in a small bowl; set aside. |
| 2 | Combine sugar and water in a heavy saucepan, stirring well; add cinnamon. Bring to a boil over medium heat; boil 2 minutes. Stir in raisin mixture; reduce heat, and cook 5 minutes. Remove from heat; stir in pecans, lemon and orange rind, and vanilla. Serve sauce warm or cold over ice cream or pound cake. |
