Carraway Seed Soup (Kummelsuppe)

INGREDIENTS:
2 ozs butter (4 tablespoons) 2 ozs flour (6 tablespoons) 1 tablespoon carraway seeds
2 pints of stock (4 cups)



1 Melt the fat and stir in the flour, fry until golden brown. Add the stock and the carraway seeds; simmer for 30 minutes. Serve with small cubes of toast (which you have fried in a little butter) in a separate dish.
