| 2 cups sugar | 1 cup light corn syrup | 2-3/4 cups raw peanuts |
| 1 teaspoon water | 1 teaspoon vanilla extract | 1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
| 1 | Combine sugar and corn syrup in a large Dutch oven. Cook over low heat to soft ball stage (240), washing down sugar crystals from sides of pan. Add peanuts; continue cooking over low heat, stirring constantly, to hard crack stage (300). Remove from heat. Stir in water, vanilla, and soda. Spread mixture evenly in a buttered 15x10x1-inch jellyroll pan. Let cool completely. Break into pieces. |
