| INGREDIENTS: | ||
| 1 lb uncooked white fish fillets | 1-1/2 cups medium white sauce | 1/2 t salt |
| 1-1/2 t nutmeg | 2 eggs, separated | 1 cup elbow macaroni |
| cheese slices | bread crumbs | SAUCE: 1/4 cup melted butter |
| 2 T minced parsley | 1 T lemon juice | |
| 1 | Cut fish into small pieces. Make 1-1/2 cups favorite white sauce and to this add salt, nutmeg, and beaten egg yolks. Cook and drain macaroni. Mix fish, macaroni, and white sauce together. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites. Pour into buttered 1-1/2-qt casserole and top with cheese slices and bread crumbs. Bake at 350 F for 30 minutes. Meanwhile, combine sauce ingredients and keep warm until fish is done. Pour over casserole and serve. |
