Sweet and Sour Brisket of Beef

INGREDIENTS:
2 pounds brisket of beef 2 onions, sliced 1 bay leaf
3 tablespoons sugar 3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar 3/4 cup boiling water
1/2 cup white raisins 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon pepper



1 Place brisket in a heavy pot. Add onions, bay leaf, sugar, vinegar, water, raisins, salt, and pepper.
2 Cover and simmer for about 3 hours, until meat is tender.
3 Remove bay leaf before serving.
