Sweet and Savory Biscuits

INGREDIENTS:
2-1/4 cups whole wheat flour, plus extra for rolling 1 cup barley flour 1/2 cup wheat bran
1/2 teaspoon salt 1 tablespoon blackstrap molasses 1 egg
1 cup yogurt 1 tablespoon safflower oil 3 (2.5-ounce) jars of meat-only baby food



1 Preheat the oven to 325 F.
2 In a large bowl, combine the flours, bran and salt. In a food processor, combine the molasses, egg, yogurt oil, and baby food. Puree it into a liquid and add to the dry mixture. Stir with a spoon, then knead with your hands to incorporate all the flour. Turn out on to a floured surface. Sprinkle more flour on top of the dough and roll to a 1/2-inch thickness. Cut into desired shape with cookie cutters. Place biscuits on a baking sheet covered with greased or non-stick foil. Bake for 25 minutes or until browned. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
