Combine the flour and oatmeal in a large bowl. Place the cream cheese, applesauce, and water in a food processor and mix until the cream cheese is liquefied. Pour the cheese/applesauce mixture into the dry ingredients and mix. Knead into a dough, adding extra flour, if necessary, to ensure that the dough isn't too sticky to roll out. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Roll dough to about 1/4-inch thickness and sprinkle with garlic powder (or fresh garlic), if desired. Cut into shapes with cookie cutters. Place cookies on a baking sheet covered with greased or non-stick foil. Bake for 20 minutes. Store in the refrigerator in an airtight container. |
