Low-Protein Garlic Biscuits

INGREDIENTS:
2 cups barley flour, plus extra for rolling 2 cloves (1 teaspoon pre-chopped) minced or crushed garlic 1/4 cup safflower oil
1 teaspoon molasses 1/3 cup water garlic powder



1 Preheat the oven to 350 F.
2 Mix the flour and garlic in a large bowl. Add the oil, molasses, and water. Stir together, then knead into a dough. Turn out onto a lightly floured surface. Roll out to 1/4-inch thickness and sprinkle the dough with garlic powder. Use cookie cutters to cut into shapes, and place on an ugreased baking sheet. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until the tops and bottoms start to brown. For crispier treats, turn the oven down to 200 F and bake the biscuits for another hour. Store at room temperature in a loosely covered container.
