INGREDIENTS:
/2 cup high-quality dry cat food 1 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon salt
/2 teaspoon baking soda 1 large egg 1/2 cup cooked, finely crumbled bacon
/4 cup warm water 1/4 cup flour, for rolling out treats 1 tablespoon bacon grease

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
In a small bowl, mix the first four ingredients.
Add the egg, crumbled bacon, and warm water, mixing well.
Sprinkle the 1/4 cup flour on a breadboard.
Place the dough on the floured breadboard and turn it over a couple times as you knead it, making sure the ingredients are well mixed and the dough is covered lightly in flour.
Roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thick.
Use a 1-inch cookie cutter to cut out the cookies. Place the cut-out cookies on a greased cookie sheet.
Score all cookies with a sharp knife, creating a + on each cookie.
With a spoon, carefully drip a few drops of bacon grease on top of each cookie.
Bake for about 10 minutes or until the bottoms of the treats are golden brown.
Remove from the oven, let cool thoroughly, and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Serve each cookie whole or break into smaller pieces along the scored lines.
CRUNCHIER TREATS: If your cat loves crunchier treats, when all the cookies have been baked, turn off the oven. Place all the cookies back on a cookie sheet and return them to the oven. Leave the cookies in the cooling oven for several hours or overnight.
