| 1 |
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. |
| 2 |
In a small bowl, mix the first four ingredients. |
| 3 |
Add the egg, crumbled bacon, and warm water, mixing well. |
| 4 |
Sprinkle the 1/4 cup flour on a breadboard. |
| 5 |
Place the dough on the floured breadboard and turn it over a couple times as you knead it, making sure the ingredients are well mixed and the dough is covered lightly in flour. |
| 6 |
Roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thick. |
| 7 |
Use a 1-inch cookie cutter to cut out the cookies. Place the cut-out cookies on a greased cookie sheet. |
| 8 |
Score all cookies with a sharp knife, creating a + on each cookie. |
| 9 |
With a spoon, carefully drip a few drops of bacon grease on top of each cookie. |
| 10 |
Bake for about 10 minutes or until the bottoms of the treats are golden brown. |
| 11 |
Remove from the oven, let cool thoroughly, and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. |
| 12 |
Serve each cookie whole or break into smaller pieces along the scored lines. |

CRUNCHIER TREATS: If your cat loves crunchier treats, when all the cookies have been baked, turn off the oven. Place all the cookies back on a cookie sheet and return them to the oven. Leave the cookies in the cooling oven for several hours or overnight. |
