Tuna Training Treats

100 1/4-teaspoon-sized treats


INGREDIENTS:
1 6-ounce can albacore tuna in oil or water, undrained 1/2 cup whole wheat flour 1/2 cup good-quality dry cat food
1/2 cup nonfat dry milk 1 large egg 1/4 cup water
1/4 cup catnip, for sprinkling on treats



1 Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
2 Place the tuna in a mixing bowl. Use a fork to shred the tuna into fine pieces.
3 Add to the tuna all the remaining ingredients except the catnip, mixing well. The dough will be sticky.
4 using a 1/4 teaspoon measuring spoon, scoop bite-sized treats and place on a greased cookie sheet.
5 Sprinkle all the treats with dried catnip.
6 Bake for 10 minutes or until the treats are golden brown.
7 Flip the treats and bake for another 5 minutes or until the treats are golden brown on both sides.
8 When the cookies have been baked, turn off the oven. Put all the cookies back on a cookie sheet and return them to the oven. Leave them in the cooling oven for several hours or overnight to harden.
9 Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
