| INGREDIENTS: | ||
| 2 cups flour | 1/2 teaspoon salt | 1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
| 1 cup sugar | 1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder | juice and grated rind 1 orange |
| 1 egg, beaten | 2 tablespoons melted shortening | 1 cup cranberries |
| 1/2 cup broken nut meats | ||
| 1 | Sift dry ingredients together into large bowl. Put juice and grated rind of orange in measuring cup, add enough boiling water to make 3/4 cup and add to dry mixture. Add egg and melted shortening and mix just enough to moisten flour mixture. Add cranberries and nut meats. Bake in greased loaf pan 45 to 50 minutes at 325 F. Store 24 hours before cutting. |
